Singapore welcomes back Wendy’s
Singapore is a food-crazy nation and a hub of South East Asia, but until recently you can’t find international chains Wendy’s, Chili’s and TGI Friday’s here. They were casualties of the 1997 Asian financial crisis (which apparently hit Singapore harder because those restaurants survived in Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta). These restaurants are back and nothing is as happy as my stomach. Also coming soon to Singapore, according to The Sunday Times (3 January 2010), is Applebee’s.
