Random Thought: Like Twitter trending topics, there should be explanation why some songs are on iTunes Top 100 chart
For example, this week on iTunes Top 100:
- Forever by Chris Brown. This song was released more than a year ago (April 2008) and yet came back in the charts because of the hugely popular JK Wedding Entrance video on YouTube. By the way, you can hate Chris Brown for being a girlfriend-beating punk, but he gets credit for not killing the JK video for copyright infringement when he could have. And he did make money out of it, so it was a good business decision.
- Don’t Stop Believing by Journey. This song is almost three decades old (released in 1981), but came roaring back to popularity due to the annoying yet memorable ending of the series finale of The Sopranos, the hugely popular mob-drama on HBO. The episode first aired in June 2007 and this song is still in the Top 100?? Solid proof that old geezers buy songs on iTunes.
