Here’s a cute story about a 13-year old who accounted his experience exchanging his iPod for a Walkman. For me, reading this peace is quite eye-opening — It didn’t occur to me that we’ve come so far in portable music that the use of a cassette is something foreign to a 13 year-old.
“It took me three days to figure out that there was another side to the tape. That was not the only naive mistake that I made; I mistook the metal/normal switch on the Walkman for a genre-specific equaliser, but later I discovered that it was in fact used to switch between two different types of cassette.”
