Startup Indonesia: Kurang orisinal?
Minggu lalu, Ryo Umezawa, direktur kapitalis ventura J-Seed Ventures mengulas acara Jakarta Ventures Night 2011 di blog Asiajin. Sebuah kutipan dari artikel tersebut:
[…] there were 9 [Indonesian] startup companies pitching to investor in five minutes appealing their services. The 9 companies consisted of groupon clone, foodspotting clone, foursquare/scavenger clone, facebook app games,...
Warren Buffet famously describes the best businesses as “economic castles...
– Search Is Google’s Castle, Everything Else Is A Moat
I never thought about it that way, but it absolutely makes sense.
Breakup Notifier | Dan Loewenherz →
I love this blog post by Dan Loewenherz. It’s an account of his experience in coming up with the idea, building, and then launching Breakup Notifier. Breakup Notifier is a Facebook app that emails you when the person of your interest changes her relationship status. Yes, it’s rather silly, but really clever at the same time. The genious of the app was widely discussed around the web...

I’m truly sad to read this.
Kita butuh perbaikan SMS iklan

Foursquare just came out with a new version on iOS. One if its best new features is “Explore” where you get recommended locations based on your and your friends’ check-in history.
For a long time, Foursquare is ONLY about check-ins and badges. They kept things fairly simple while competing check-in services started to appear, offering similar badges and stickers. Like a true...
Thanks, Trumpet Winsock
A lot of people now probably can’t imagine using a personal computer without internet WiFi. But back in 1994, with my 386 Gateway2000 desktop PC (check out the beige box in the picture), I had to install a software on top of Windows 3.1 just to be able to dial-up to get internet. That software was Trumpet Winsock.
I actually don’t remember paying for the software back then, and...

Cara mendapat untung di internet
Pertama, maaf untuk judul artikel yang bombastis.
Ada artikel menarik dari Fortune Tech tentang akuisisi Beluga oleh Facebook. Berikut adalah kutipannya:
Under the cell phone industry’s peculiar pricing system, downloading data to your smartphone is amazingly cheap—unless the data in question happens to be a text message. In that case the price of a download jumps roughly 50,000-fold,...
Peel: A Bridge Between Your iPhone And Home... →
Peel is a new product that turns your iPhone (and Android phones) into universal remote control for your home entertainment system. You will be able to use an app on your phone to control your TV, stereo system, or cable box. I personally have gone “I wish there was an app for that” for this type of product, so I’m really happy somebody created it.
